TCK Therapy
Third Culture Therapy Services aims to provide professional mental health services to TCKs and their families.
Third culture kid (TCK) is a term used to refer to children raised in a culture other than their parents' (or the culture of the country given on the child's passport, where they are legally considered native) for a significant part of their early development years. TCKs are exposed to a greater variety of cultural influences and often have difficulties identifying with their "passport country" as well as the country they reside in resulting in them developing a separate "third culture" for themselves. Examples of TCKs are Missionary Kids (MKs), military kids, foreign aid worker's children and children of businessmen and women living and working internationally.
I am to use my experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, along with my experiences a TCK, to provide you with meaningful and purposeful counseling services. Together we will work to successfully identify stressors you may be facing and help you develop successful coping skills for dealing with anxiety, depression, self-harm and other mental health concerns you may face while living abroad or in your passport country.
